About The Children's Trust, Tadworth
The Children's Trust, Tadworth is a national charity providing care, education and therapy for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs, and rehabilitation services to children with an acquired brain injury. In 2009 the Trust is celebrating its 25th year as an independent charity.
Based in Tadworth, Surrey, The Children’s Trust’s services are designed to meet the individual needs of children from across the UK with the aim of enhancing their quality of life. Its services are provided by teams of dedicated professionals, including experienced nursing and care staff, doctors, therapists, teachers, social workers and hospital play specialists. Care is provided at the Trust’s 24-acre site in Surrey, as well as in the family home and in the community across the UK.
In 1985 the Trust was the first organisation to offer residential rehabilitation to children with acquired brain injury and it remains the UK’s largest centre for this treatment. The rehabilitation service has helped hundreds of children from all over the country to rebuild their lives after they have sustained a brain injury as a result of a tragic accident or serious illness. In addition, the Trust offers transitional care for children who are technology-dependent (e.g. requiring a ventilator to breathe), by providing expert nursing care in a child-friendly environment as a bridge between hospital and home.

- Residential nursing care on a short break, transitional or continuing care basis;
- Short breaks in the family home;
- Special education for children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex health needs (at St Margaret’s School);
